29.06.2023 | Seven maxims for the successful handling of knowledge

Ulrich Schmidt, former president of the Society for Knowledge Management (GfWM), presents his seven principles for the successful handling of knowledge for discussion. They have their origin in experiences from 20 years of knowledge management practice. Since 2000, the discourse about the knowledge and information society has led to many knowledge management initiatives, which have often failed to live up to expectations.

This is where the "Seven Maxims" come into play. They have the character of management guidelines that provide orientation for a beneficial, practical implementation of knowledge management. First, they provide a pragmatic working definition of knowledge. They also describe the essential characteristics of knowledge, the factors that influence its creation, and what hinders its application.

At the roundtable, we want to discuss individual principles and interactively reflect what they mean for us as knowledge managers and how we can usefully apply them in our daily work. The presentation will be in German, individual discussons at tables in the language of the participants.

Optional participation in a guided tour of the 'Experience Center' and the Siemens manufacturing facility starting at 4:30 p.m.

The Roundtable is free of charge for SKMF members. Non-SKMF members are asked to contribute to the Roundtable expenses with a paid registration.

Facilitator
