Digital Knowledge Management at Siemens

"Siemens References" is an innovative web platform designed to facilitate the worldwide exchange of knowledge, experiences, and best practices across the Siemens company. This platform connects and stimulates direct exchange and communication amongst employees. Observations have shown that the resulting knowledge transfer takes place not only via the application but also, in tandem, through bilateral channels.

During this roundtable, participants will learn about the “Siemens References” platform and explore interesting questions about how to engage people in internal collaboration platforms and how to motivate and sustain the surrounding communities – and linkages to performance and knowledge management.

Refreshments will be served as of 5:30 PM.

20.03.2024 | Knowledge Management Today: Take the KM Survey!

There are many different takes on knowledge management (KM). An early divide was between the 'people' people and the 'technology' people. Later, technology became social. And now we have Artificial Intelligence (AI) that gives near perfectly human replies.

What has, and will knowledge management become? Find out in this session delivered in the form of a survey and follow-up conversations about the full range of today's KM – to see where you and your organisation stand on this question and related issues.

10.01.2023 | How to evaluate projects? Any idea?

You all know how to manage your own projects, but if you were asked to assess someone else’s project, including an initiative as ambitious as convincing young men and women in remote villages in Liberia to fill their pockets with screws instead of bullets, how would you do it?

And if you were asked to use criteria such as Relevance, Effectiveness, Efficiency, Coherence, and Sustainability of Benefits, as well as look at the extent to which a project promotes Gender Mainstreaming – and to rate the project on those criteria as well as on its Management and Governance, and financial aspects, where would you start?

If you have no idea – come join us on January 10th, 2023

06.12.2022 | Looking back on the PM-BA relationship: collaboration and knowledge sharing

The Project Manager was an independent position until the advent of Business Analysts and other associated roles such as Product Owner or Knowledge Manager.

During the evening of September 13, 2022 we explored the interaction between the roles of project managers and business analysts. We did this in a round table format where participants worked in teams to produce their thoughts on this theme.
The result is a set of flipcharts on which these reflections are transcribed. These reflections are of a fairly general nature.

On the evening of December 6, we want to start from these flipcharts and work on them in more depth to produce concrete and tangible recommendations that can be used by project managers and business analysts.

Since the relationship between project managers and business analysts requires the sharing of their knowledge, we will have a third association partner, the Swiss Knowledge Management Forum (SKMF).
